Employment at Sun Valley


Sun Valley began as a church plant in 1990 in Chandler, Arizona. Over the years Sun Valley has grown into a large mult-site church in the Phoenix area. Currently there are five campuses located in Casa Grande, East Mesa, Gilbert, Tempe and Queen Creek. Together, nearly 8,000 people attend a Sun Valley Campus each weekend. Sun Valley has been featured in a book by Leadership Network about church mergers: Better Together: Making Church Mergers Work, and has been named by Outreach Magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing churches in the nation.

Worship Director – Central Services
The Worship Director on the Central Services team will support the vision of Sun Valley Community Church by leading teams that create and execute engaging, excellent Christ-centered musical worship experiences. They will work closely with SV Production to support the overall Weekend Worship Experience with video, audio, lighting and creative elements that enhance the weekend experience. They will be a model of integrity, living out biblical truth and demonstrate the Core Values of Sun Valley – authenticity, community, and generosity.

Next Steps Director  – Gilbert Campus
The Next Step Director/Pastor is responsible for helping people take the next step in their relationship with Jesus. This role would provide leadership over the many ministry environments to adults beyond weekend services with an emphasis on connecting people to relationship and responsibility. This position would be responsible for leading a team that small groups, bridge groups (larger ministry groups), and local outreach through groups.

Video Director – Central Services

The Video Director is a key leader across Sun Valley campuses. This person will work closely with other creative personalities as a positive, solution-focused leader. This person is the visionary behind all video content for Sun Valley. They lead the weekend services from a broadcast perspective. This person should be a storyteller that excels in pre-produced video. They must have experience editing, producing, filming, and directing video. This individual will be responsible to oversee the development of the video team at the Broadcast campus, as well as developing video concepts across all campuses. This person will work closely with pastoral staff to develop video concepts and lead the church with video content. With humility, they will represent Christ and Sun Valley well in the community at large. In all actions, this person will be positive, supportive, and live out the mission, values, and vision of Sun Valley.

Next Steps Director – Tempe Campus

The Next Step Pastor provides leadership and spiritual shepherding for Sun Valley’s GroupLife Ministry. At Sun Valley we believe that life change happens best in the context of friendships centered on God’s Word. Next Steps is at the hub of everything we do. The Next Step Pastor has the full support of the Lead Pastor from the stage as well as their personal involvement in a Small Group. Present groups are primarily sermon-based, but we also have other segment studies such as Women’s Bible Studies, Men’s Bible Studies, Marriage and Financial Groups, Singles’ Groups, and Recovery Groups. The Next Step Pastor should develop infrastructure for this area that is in keeping with the church’s ministry strategies and philosophy. This person will be a model of integrity, living out biblical truth, and demonstrate the Core Values of Sun Valley – Authenticity, Community, and Generosity.

SV Kids Director – Casa Grande Campus

The SV Kids Director serves as the point leader for Children’s Ministry on their respective campus. Their role is to lead the Children’s staff and volunteer leaders to create a fun, safe, and relational environment for children (birth – 4th grade) to meet, know, and follow Jesus, and also build partnering relationships with families.

Current Part-Time Opportunities

Facilities Operations Member – Gilbert, Queen Creek, and East Mesa Campuses

This position will work under the direction of the Director of Facilities to perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on the church campus building and facilities. They will be a team player with the rest of the Sun Valley team, as well as, work with other campus counterparts to share best practices and resources when appropriate. They will follow the biblical model of sacrifice by being willing to put the needs of others in front of their own.
